About The Position
The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District is a well-equipped, full-service fire agency providing fire suppression, emergency medical services, technical rescue, and more to a population of over 770,000 residents. The Fire Investigation Unit, under the Fire Prevention Bureau, is responsible for determining the origin and cause of fires and investigating fire-related incidents. The District is seeking to fill several Fire Investigator positions, which involve a 56-hour work schedule with two consecutive 24-hour shifts followed by four days off. The role requires collaboration with law enforcement and the District Attorney to prepare cases for trial and provide expert testimony in court.
