About The Position

Rimkus is seeking a part-time Fire Investigator to join their forensic team in mid to upper Wisconsin. The role involves determining the origin and cause of various fire incidents, including residential, commercial, vehicle, and marine fires. Candidates from other locations are welcome to apply if they are willing to relocate at their own expense. Requirements

• Associate degree in Fire Science and/or 10+ years of related experience is required.
• Knowledge of fire ground procedures, including fire investigative duties specializing in fire origin and cause.
• Experience in the fire and explosion investigation and analysis field is a MUST.
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Word is required.
• CFI-IAAI Certification required.
• Must have current IAAI or comparable transcript identifying education meeting industry standards NFPA 921 & 1033.
• Have current certifications and course-related work as it relates to fire origin and cause.
• Possess strong technical knowledge and understanding of processing investigative fire scenes.

Responsibilities

• Gather photographic and physical evidence.
• Conduct investigations to document onsite conditions and oversee field testing.
• Perform scene photography, interview witnesses, and gather evidence/data.
• Prepare oral and written reports documenting causes of fire or explosion incidents.
• Prepare and give depositions and expert testimony.
