About The Position

The position involves installing, programming, configuring, commissioning, and servicing Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression Systems, including but not limited to Simplex, Fike, Kidde, Inergen, Sapphire, FM-200, and CO2, as well as other related building system products at customer sites. The role requires executing projects on time and within allocated installation hours, working with the project manager to resolve discrepancies and coordination problems that impair installation activities, and managing multiple projects simultaneously. The technician must read and interpret complicated blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manuals. Coordination with all trades to optimize installation time is essential, as is attending all required site meetings. The technician will also instruct and train customers on the functional operation of the equipment/system, conduct simulations, and answer questions. Excellent customer service skills are necessary to ensure customer satisfaction through consistent communication with district staff and customers. Timely completion of project documentation and adherence to all OSHA and Johnson Controls safety policies and procedures are required. Participation in a scheduled On-call rotation and performing other duties as assigned are also part of the job.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Three (3) years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Access Control, Nurse Call, and Paging systems.
