About The Position

As a technician at Johnson Controls, you will be responsible for installing, programming, configuring, commissioning, and servicing Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression Systems. This includes working with systems such as Simplex, Fike, Kidde, Inergen, Sapphire, FM-200, and CO2, as well as other related building system products at customer sites. You will execute projects on time and within allocated installation hours, working closely with the project manager to resolve discrepancies and coordination problems that may impair installation activities. You must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and read and interpret complicated blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manuals. Additionally, you will coordinate installation activities with all trades to optimize installation time, attend required site meetings, instruct and train customers on the functional operation of the equipment/system, conduct simulations, and answer questions. Excellent customer service skills are essential, as you will communicate consistently with district staff and customers to ensure satisfaction. You will also be responsible for completing project documentation in a timely manner and adhering to all OSHA and Johnson Controls safety policies and procedures. Participation in a scheduled on-call rotation is required, along with performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Three (3) years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Access Control, Nurse Call, and Paging systems.
