ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Conduct regular fire safety inspections of school district buildings, equipment, and grounds to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal fire codes. Identify and document fire hazards, recommend corrective actions, and follow up to ensure compliance. Inspect fire alarms, sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, and other fire protection systems. Investigate fire incidents and work with local fire authorities to determine causes and preventive measures. Develop and implement fire safety policies, evacuation plans, and emergency response procedures. Provide fire prevention and safety training to staff, students, and administrators. Maintain records of inspections, violations, corrective actions, and fire safety equipment testing. Coordinate and participate in fire drills and emergency preparedness exercises. Stay updated on changes to fire codes, safety regulations, and best practices. Assist with fire safety aspects of building renovations, plan review and new construction projects.
