About The Position

The Fire Extinguisher Technician is responsible for the inspection, testing, servicing, and installation of portable fire extinguishers and other fire safety equipment in compliance with fire codes. This role emphasizes quality service, customer interaction, and maintaining safety standards while working independently.

Requirements

• Experience working as a fire extinguisher technician.
• Proficient in using personal computers and software such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and database programs.
• Knowledge of test equipment including multi-meters, digital analyzers, frequency meters, and decibel meters.
• Ability to lift/move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Capability to work in unusual positions such as climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.
• Ability to work a full-time schedule with potential overtime on short notice.
• Willingness to travel, including nights and weekends, to accommodate customer schedules.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, service, and install portable fire extinguishers and fire suppression systems.
• Familiarize with and adhere to NFPA codes and standards.
• Solicit new business for fire extinguisher and restaurant fire suppression inspections.
• Conduct timely inspections for established customers while maintaining high quality standards.
• Maintain accurate and precise daily documentation.
• Work efficiently and in an organized manner with minimal supervision.
• Display a professional appearance and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Communicate professionally with customers and provide excellent customer service.
• Achieve a high standard of productivity in all tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
