About The Position

Inspect, repair, and test fire extinguishers using hand tools, hydrostatic test equipment, and monitoring devices. Hydro-test high pressure cylinders. Dismantle extinguishers and examine mechanical parts, extinguishing agents, and expelling means; replaces worn or damaged parts. Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

Dismantle extinguishers and examine tubing, horns, head gaskets, cutter discs, and other parts for defects. replaces worn or damaged parts.
Clean extinguishers and recharge with various agents, including soda water and sulfuric acid, carbon tetrachloride, nitrogen, or patented solutions or other.
Test extinguishers for conformity with legal specifications.
Install cabinets and brackets to hold extinguishers.
Facilitate and support sales of fire extinguishers.
