The Fire Extinguisher Service Technician is responsible for the service and sales of fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, fire hoses, kitchen fire systems, and any related Life Safety items deemed applicable. This role is crucial as the technician acts as a liaison between the customers and the company, providing exceptional customer service. The position requires interfacing with customers, the Customer Service Department, and shop technicians under the direction of department managers. The technician will be expected to complete scheduled work as assigned, whether in the shop or at customer facilities, ensuring that all tasks are performed efficiently and effectively. In addition to servicing and selling fire safety equipment, the technician will operate, test, and recharge fire-fighting equipment, maintaining all test and recharge equipment in good working condition. They will also prepare and review invoices and recommendations with customers, identify and resolve customer complaints, and perform semi-annual kitchen suppression system inspections. The role includes conducting exit and emergency light inspections and repairs, providing fire extinguisher training for customers, and attending departmental, planning, and company meetings. A good driving record is essential, as the technician will be required to travel to various customer locations. The position demands a high school diploma or equivalent, along with an acceptable driving record over the last three years. Sales and customer service experience, scheduling and routing experience, and proficiency with hand tools and computers are also required. The technician must be physically capable of lifting over 75 lbs and standing or walking for up to 8 hours. The work environment can vary, including clean and unclean conditions, and may involve outdoor work, requiring the use of steel-toed shoes. The technician must be available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with overtime as needed, primarily during the hours of 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
