We are currently seeking an experienced Fire Control Technician candidate to provide real-time fleet support for Combat Control systems to include ISEA, Chat, and technical support. The position is based at the Submarine Combat Support Center (SC)2, which is connected to classified and unclassified networks, FAX, telephone, and chat. The Fire Control Technician will support AN/BYG-1 Fleet Support in various tasks, including responding to current Fleet issues, developing Fleet Advisories, and collaborating with program Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on SUBs message responses. The role involves attending AN/BYG-1 meetings, taking notes, and providing feedback to the ISEA team. The technician will also be responsible for completing daily SUBs/CASREPs/Fleet Correspondence spreadsheets and providing them to NUWC program SMEs and Program Office (PMS 425) via SIPR. Additionally, the technician will develop a Fleet Common Issues Tracker to track Fleet issues for program use by TI/APB and assist in technical documentation review and updates as required. The individual will be expected to develop a quarterly Fleet Newsletter (TOCSIN) with proper organization of information and correct grammatical/technical details. This role requires working across programs and with other NUWC technical codes to obtain required information. The technician will also complete any other tasks requested by team leads to support the completion of Fleet Support products, such as maintaining and organizing technical information, supporting CM/ILS documentation review, and obtaining access to all databases required for task completion. Some travel is required for this position to attend BYG-1 Program Working Groups and other planned/unplanned events, with the opportunity to support installations in Groton approximately twice a year. The individual may also be requested to support emergency Fleet issues, which may require coming into the office during off hours to respond to Fleet chat alarms or staying later to support real-world Combat/Strike events. This is rare but may be required once the individual is up to speed. The individual will require NMCI SIPR and will be seated in SC2 at NUWC.
