About The Position

The Fire and Safety Representative is responsible for providing fire safety field services to adult and child care facilities, ensuring compliance with safety codes, regulations, and state and local requirements. This role involves conducting safety inspections, compiling reports, reviewing evacuation plans, and establishing relationships with local safety authorities. The representative will also conduct safety awareness training and regulatory requirement training.

Requirements

• Five years of full-time active service in a professional fire department or industrial fire brigade, including two years responsible for fire prevention, inspection, or training programs; or
• Eight years of active service in a volunteer fire department with similar responsibilities; or
• An associate's degree in fire science or related field and three years of active service in a professional fire department, including two years in a responsible role; or
• An associate's degree in fire science or related field and six years of active service in a volunteer fire department with similar responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

• Successful completion of six fire safety courses offered by the State Office of Fire Prevention and Control.
