About The Position

Fire and Emergency Response Vehicle SME Key Role: Manage the application of analytical risk management principles that enable organizations to achieve mission assurance by preparing for, preventing, mitigating, responding to, and recovering from emergencies. Apply advanced consulting skills and extensive technical expertise, including full industry knowledge. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Work without considerable direction, and mentor and supervise team members.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in a fire and emergency services department
  • 5+ years of experience supporting fire apparatus procurement
  • Experience in the development of specifications for emergency apparatus such as pumpers and aerial devices, rescue vehicles, brush trucks, and ambulances
  • Experience working collaboratively with multiple agencies and apparatus manufacturers
  • Experience conducting final inspections and performance tests of apparatus at manufacturer’s facilities
  • Experience working with the U.S. General Services Administration
  • Experience with apparatus fleet management and maintenance issues, including developing long-term fleet replacement schedules, maintaining apparatus inventories, and assisting with agencies and apparatus manufacturers on warranty and recall issues
  • Knowledge of NFPA 1900 – Standard for Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Vehicles, Automotive Fire Apparatus, Wildland Fire Apparatus, and Automotive Ambulances
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree
