As a Fire Alarm Service Technician at Encore, you will be a key part of keeping our customers’ life safety systems operating the way they should when it matters most. You will inspect, test, program, service, and troubleshoot a wide range of fire alarm systems, making sure they are compliant, reliable, and ready to perform. This is a field-based role with a lot of variety and autonomy. You will move from site to site, solve problems in real-time, and work directly with customers, contractors, and internal teams. Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Valid electrical license, in accordance with state specific requirements
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within your assigned territory
Strong understanding of NFPA 72, NEC, OSHA regulations, and fire alarm system theory
Hands-on experience working with fire alarm systems from major manufacturers such as Notifier, Siemens, Edwards, Simplex, Fire Lite, Gamewell FCI, and Honeywell
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work through issues methodically
Strong communication skills for interacting with customers, contractors, and internal teams
Ability to work independently, manage multiple service assignments, and prioritize your day
A professional, team-oriented mindset and commitment to customer service excellence

Nice To Haves

Technical or industry related experience
Three or more years of experience inspecting, servicing, or repairing fire alarm systems.
NICET certification in water-based systems for inspection, testing, or layout.
Experience supporting both service and small project work, not just one or the other.
Helped mentor or support apprentices or less experienced technicians in the field.
Worked across multiple manufacturers and are comfortable adapting to different panels and devices.
Known for clean, complete documentation, and for keeping customers informed without being prompted.

Responsibilities

Service, program, test, inspect, and troubleshoot both basic and complex fire alarm systems.
Perform routine maintenance and corrective repairs in accordance with NFPA 72 and company standards.
Identify code deficiencies and provide clear, professional recommendations for system improvements.
Respond to emergency calls as required, including participation in nights, weekends, and on-call rotations.
Collaborate with contractors, building personnel, and internal teams to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
Document service activities accurately, including findings, work performed, and parts used.
Maintain clear communication with customers, supervisors, and office staff regarding status, next steps, and any concerns.
