About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Technician / Lead to support commercial fire alarm installation and service projects in the greater Nashville area. This is a hands-on technical and field leadership role supporting large-scale commercial environments such as hospitals, government facilities, office buildings, hotels, and multi‑use developments. The ideal candidate has strong technical fire alarm experience, can work independently, and is comfortable leading small teams in the field while maintaining compliance with applicable codes and safety standards. A company vehicle is provided.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of hands‑on commercial fire alarm installation and/or service experience
  • Experience leading work in the field or acting as a lead technician
  • Strong understanding of NFPA 72, inspection processes, and fire alarm code compliance
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision
  • Ability to read blueprints and job documentation accurately
  • Must supply basic hand tools (e.g., punch tools, snips, scissors)

Nice To Haves

  • NICET Fire Alarm Certification (Level I, II, or III)
  • Experience with fire alarm platforms such as Notifier, Simplex, Fire‑Lite, Honeywell, Bosch, Edwards, or similar systems
  • Exposure to security systems (access control, CCTV)
  • Experience supporting new teams or expanding operations

Responsibilities

  • Install, service, and troubleshoot commercial fire alarm systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents
  • Lead and coordinate field work for small technician teams (2–4 personnel)
  • Ensure work is completed in compliance with NFPA 72 and applicable local fire codes
  • Install and service fire alarm devices including smoke detectors, heat detectors, pull stations, notification appliances, control panels, relays, and related components
  • Bend and install EMT and rigid conduit as required
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, inspectors, and customers
  • Maintain safe, organized, and professional job sites
  • Work in occupied commercial environments while minimizing disruption
