About The Position

We are seeking a motivated Fire Alarm Technician to support the installation of fire alarm and fire life safety systems in commercial buildings. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in low voltage systems, electrical work, or construction, looking to grow their career in the fire life safety industry. As a Fire Life Safety Technician, you will work onsite supporting large-scale commercial projects, assisting with fire alarm installation, wire pulling, and system setup, while ensuring work is completed safely and according to NFPA codes and industry standards.

Requirements

  • 0-2+ years in construction and/or low voltage installation
  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Valid California Driver License and proof of auto insurance.
  • Must be able to work weekends, nights, split shifts, and rotating shifts (if needed).
  • Ability to drive for 2+ hours in a work shift/day, daily.
  • Ability to drive, walk, bend, stoop, hear, and speak, daily.
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, under all temperature variations.
  • Work environment may be construction sites, commercial buildings, and multi-tenant properties.
  • Ascend/Descend and work at heights above 6ft and extreme heights, occasionally
  • Move/Transport/Install/Remove items weighing 50+ pounds, daily
  • Pushing/Pulling using upper extremities, daily
  • Position self to work in confined spaces, occasionally

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation of fire alarm systems and life safety systems in commercial environments
  • Perform wire pulling, device installation, and system wiring
  • Support demolition, construction rough-ins, and material staging
  • Follow project plans, blueprints, and schematics for accurate installation
  • Maintain clean and organized job sites (project prep and cleanup)
  • Work closely with Lead Technicians and Foremen to complete projects on time
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment required for installation
  • Ensure all work meets safety standards, electrical codes, and NFPA requirements
  • Assist in identifying and understanding fire alarm system components and functions
