About The Position

We are seeking a Fire Alarm Technician. This technician will be responsible for installing, configuring, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing fire alarm systems. Experience with additional low-voltage systems such as: access control, CCTV, nurse call, and intercom systems. This role requires someone who leads by example, demonstrates integrity, drives results, promotes teamwork, and delivers high-quality service to both internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • Cat6 cabling
  • Installation and troubleshooting
  • Fire alarm installation and service
  • Experience with Honeywell, Silent Knight, and Notifier systems
  • Low-voltage systems knowledge (fire alarm, access control, CCTV, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of fire alarm, access control, CCTV, nurse call, and intercom systems.
  • Strong technical and computer skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to use lifts and work beyond ladder limitations.
  • Ability to regularly carry and climb 8’+ ladders.
  • Proficiency with hand tools and multimeters.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
  • Comfortable reporting to a Project Manager and providing necessary documentation and updates.
  • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Program, start-up, troubleshoot, and commission new system installations.
  • Perform point-to-point troubleshooting on fire alarms, access control systems, CCTV, nurse call, and intercom systems.
  • Communicate clearly with the project lead and client regarding project status, challenges, and timelines.
  • Assist with installation projects and support a successful installation process.
  • Identify installation or system issues and escalate to the project lead when needed.
  • Review contracts and design documents for accuracy prior to installation.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure all systems are installed and functioning per code.
  • Complete detailed project and service reports.
  • Respond to emergency service calls as needed.
  • Maintain strong written and verbal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate high attention to detail and timely resolution of customer needs.
  • Work shift times that may vary based on project assignments.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
  • Maintain regular, in-person attendance during standard business hours.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
