Our Fire Alarm Systems Technicians play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of buildings and their occupants. This position involves the installation, programming, start-up, and commissioning of advanced fire alarm equipment, including fire safety systems, mass notification systems, detectors, and various field peripherals. As the face of Siemens, our technicians are responsible for regular interactions with customers, ensuring their needs are met and their environments are safe. The Fire Alarm Technician position can be classified as either mid-level or senior-level, depending on the candidate's directly-related experience in commercial fire alarm systems. Located in the Greater South Bend, IN area, this position will report to our Indianapolis, IN branch location. Occasional travel to Indianapolis may be required, approximately 5%-10% of the time. In this role, you will participate in operational testing, verification, and acceptance of fire alarm systems. This includes running routine reports to review system operations, conducting final inspections and testing, and supporting customer acceptance along with the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). You will also assist in customer training on system operations and provide necessary plans and fire safety system documents for as-built drawings. Identifying code and non-conformance issues and making recommendations for system installation will be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will conduct project site communication and coordination, supporting the scheduling of trade contractors to ensure adherence to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
