The Fire Alarm Systems Technician plays a crucial role in this mission, being responsible for the installation, programming, start-up, and commissioning of advanced fire alarm equipment, including fire safety systems, mass notification systems, detectors, and field peripherals. This position is not just about improving buildings; it is about ensuring the safety and well-being of the occupants within those buildings. As the face of Siemens, your expertise and regular interaction with customers will be vital in maintaining their safety and security. This role can be classified as either mid-level or senior-level, depending on the candidate's directly-related experience in commercial fire alarm systems. The position is based in the Greater South Bend, IN area and will report to our Indianapolis, IN branch location. Occasional day travel to Indianapolis may be required, approximately 5%-10% of the time. As a Fire Alarm Technician, you will engage in operational testing, verification, and acceptance of fire alarm systems, conduct final inspections, and support customer acceptance processes. You will also assist in training customers on system operations and provide necessary documentation for as-built drawings, while identifying code and non-conformance issues and making recommendations for system installations. Additionally, you will coordinate project site communications and scheduling with trade contractors to ensure compliance with local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
