About The Position
AECOM is actively seeking a talented Fire Alarm Systems Engineer to join our World Class Rail Team in our New York Metro Region. Daily duties and responsibilities include performing specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer, gathering and correlating basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures, reviewing drawings, specifications, and procedures for technical discrepancies, working on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests, proposing approaches to solve new problems encountered, identifying discrepancies in results, providing guidance to entry level engineers, performing work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision, coordinating project designs with other disciplines including attendance at project meetings, reviewing shop drawings, recording changes and communicating directly with suppliers, contractors and client representatives as required, and preparing construction estimates and engineering budgets.
