About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Superintendent to lead and oversee the installation, coordination, and execution of fire alarm and life-safety systems on commercial construction projects in the Cincinnati, OH region. This role provides strong field leadership, ensures code compliance, and drives projects to successful completion while maintaining safety, quality, and schedule.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in fire alarm installation and field supervision
  • Strong working knowledge of fire alarm systems, panels, and devices
  • Solid understanding of NFPA 72 and AHJ processes
  • Proven ability to lead field crews and manage jobsite activities
  • Ability to read and interpret fire alarm and construction drawings
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and scaffolding
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods
  • Ability to use hand tools, testing equipment, and electronic devices
  • Ability to work in active construction environments and varying weather conditions
  • Visual and auditory ability to verify alarms, signals, and system operation

Nice To Haves

  • NICET Fire Alarm Systems certification (Level III or IV)
  • Ohio fire alarm license or ability to obtain
  • Experience on commercial or multi-site construction projects
  • Prior superintendent, foreman, or lead technician experience

Responsibilities

  • Supervise fire alarm technicians, installers, and subcontractors
  • Plan and assign daily work activities and manpower
  • Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting, and on-site leadership
  • Enforce company safety policies and jobsite best practices
  • Coordinate fire alarm work with general contractors and other trades
  • Review drawings, specifications, and construction schedules
  • Identify and resolve field conflicts and installation challenges
  • Assist with material planning and manpower forecasting
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA 72, Ohio fire code, and local AHJ requirements
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, and commissioning activities
  • Act as the primary field contact with fire marshals and inspectors
  • Perform field quality checks to verify proper installation and operation
  • Assist with deficiency resolution, as-built documentation, and closeout
  • Support system turnover and customer training
