About The Position

The Fire Alarm Superintendent is responsible for supervising the operations of the Fire Alarm Division, ensuring effective management of both technical and administrative personnel. This role focuses on achieving financial and operational goals, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction, and ensuring the safety and training of technical staff. The position is based in San Antonio, Texas, and reports directly to the General Manager.

Requirements

  • Possess any necessary licensing and certification required by National, State and Local codes.
  • Minimum 3-5 years related fire alarm experience.
  • NICET or equivalent training from manufacturers or institutions.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 72.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs schematics and operational/product manuals.
  • Proficiency with using PCs including working knowledge of MS Excel / Word as well as iPhone/iPad apps.
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Willingness to travel out of town including overnight lodging.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
  • Self-starter that can work with little to no supervision.
  • Strong working knowledge of NFPA codes.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the operations of the Fire Alarm Division.
  • Work with the General Manager and other managers to develop financial and operational goals.
  • Ensure the effective operation of the Fire Alarm Division and the efficiency of Fire Alarm personnel.
  • Establish productivity goals for technical and administrative personnel.
  • Achieve assigned monthly goals for revenue and cost control and correct any budgetary deficiencies.
  • Lead technical and administrative personnel in providing high levels of customer service.
  • Ensure technical personnel are highly trained in services, products, and safety procedures.
  • Learn and ensure compliance with all applicable industry codes.
  • Protect the company's assets.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the General Manager or Managing Member.
