We are partnering with a leading engineering and technology organization to identify an experienced Fire Alarm Project Leader II . This role plays a critical part in delivering complex fire alarm, life safety, and technology integration projects across commercial, industrial, and mission-critical environments. This is a high-impact position for a proven project leader who thrives in fast-paced, technical environments, can manage multimillion-dollar contracts, and is comfortable guiding engineering and field teams from design through commissioning. Requirements

  • 10+ years in applications engineering with 5+ years of project leadership (budget, schedule, delivery).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (electrical or related preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience managing electrical or fire alarm projects $500K–$10M .
  • Working knowledge of IBC, NEC, NFPA codes or demonstrated ability to quickly ramp.
  • Strong experience with: Contract drawings, subcontracts, RFIs, change orders, addendums, submittals
  • Project management systems, job-cost reporting, and estimating tools
  • AutoCAD, MS Project, CPM scheduling, and project control tools
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on-time and under budget .
  • Ability to proactively identify and resolve technical, operational, and customer-facing issues.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to engage customers, internal teams, and senior management.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple fire alarm and life safety projects ranging from $500K–$3M (up to $5M annual volume).
  • Oversee engineering teams, field technicians, and installation crews to ensure on-time, on-budget execution.
  • Manage design-build, special suppression, and turnkey fire detection system projects.
  • Develop and manage project schedules using CPM methodology and general contractor schedules.
  • Conduct design reviews ensuring accuracy, manufacturability, and compliance with code requirements.
  • Coordinate ordering, fabrication, pre-testing, and staging of equipment and panels.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation, as-builts, RFIs, submittals, and change order logs.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for customers, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Communicate project updates weekly, proactively resolve issues, and address customer concerns.
  • Interpret contract terms, negotiate revisions, and ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project budgets to maintain profitability and positive cash flow.
  • Develop cost estimates, proposals, change orders, and forecasts.
  • Review and approve monthly cost updates, productivity reports, and cash flow projections.
  • Ensure projects meet IBC, NEC, NFPA , and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Oversee AHJ inspections and approvals.
  • Monitor adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce cost.
  • Coordinate permit requests, site access, material logistics, and resource planning.
  • Lead internal kickoff meetings and cross-functional alignment across engineering and field operations.
