This position is responsible for designing and developing Fire Alarm systems to detect and notify occupants in the event of a fire. Their responsibilities revolve around performing research and analysis, utilizing equipment data and product knowledge, producing 2D drawings & schematics, and coordinating with engineers, project managers, and facilitating work permits. Furthermore, a fire alarm designer may design upgrades and enhancements, create project templates & standards, take part in codes & standards seminars, attend manufacturers training and development sessions, research new fire codes and installation standards, create efficiencies in drafting quality and establish minimum design standards.
