About The Position

Founded in 1984, Firetrol is the national leader in fire protection & life safety services. We are currently seeking a Fire Alarm Designer / CAD Drafter to join our team of over 900 of the best fire protection and security professionals in the industry. This opportunity will be in our Houston, Texas location.

Requirements

• Prefer at least 2-5 years’ experience with Fire Alarms systems layout per NFPA 72 & 101.
• Proficient in AutoCAD 2019 or newer.
• Prefer at least 2-5 years’ experience, Fire Alarm systems.
• Notifier alarm system experience preferred but not required.
• Licensed Texas APS (Alarm Planning Superintendent) preferred but not required.
• Additional 2-5 years’ experience, Fire Suppression systems a plus.
• Additional Fire Suppression (Clean Agent, CO2) system design experience a plus.
• Additional Licensed Texas EPL (Extinguisher Planner’s License) a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Communicate technical concepts to sales reps, operations team, and customers.
• Design and layout of Fire Alarm systems in AutoCAD per code requirements.
• The layout of Access Control systems in AutoCAD per code requirements.
• Build equipment submittals.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.
