About The Position

The Fire Alarm Apprentice position involves assisting foreman in the installation and service of fire alarm systems and other components associated with fire protection systems. The role requires maintaining documentation of work performed, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The apprentice will be responsible for moving and carrying equipment and tools, weighing up to 75 lbs, and performing work in unusual and occasionally difficult positions. The position also involves distributing materials from the truck to designated lay down areas, maintaining and organizing these areas, and cleaning up job sites and tools. Understanding and adhering to Allied Fire Protection’s Safety program and related documentation is crucial. The apprentice is expected to progress in their fire protection education through tools provided by the company. Frequent travel within the U.S. (up to 80%) is required, often for several weeks at a time, based on project and client needs. Per diem and lodging will be provided according to company policy, and a valid driver’s license and ability to fly are required.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred but not required
  • Related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • No direct fire protection experience required
  • Experience in electrical or fire alarm installation preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to fly

Responsibilities

  • Other duties as assigned
  • Travel frequently within the U.S. (up to 80%)
