About The Position

We’re looking for a skilled, hands-on technician who takes pride in building machines the right way. As a Fintube Assembly Technician at McElroy, you’ll put together heavy-duty equipment that’s shipped all over the world to make high-quality finned tube used in heat exchangers. This is precision work, but it’s also about working with your hands, using tools, and solving problems as part of a tight-knit team. If you’ve ever put together complex machinery, worked with hydraulics, pneumatics, or rotating equipment, and you enjoy seeing something come to life because you built it, this could be a great fit.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience putting together industrial equipment, heavy machinery, or similar.
• Strong mechanical skills and the ability to read blueprints.
• Comfortable using precision tools (like micrometers and dial indicators) to get things just right.
• Hands-on knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical work.
• Familiar with safe lifting, rigging, and handling of large parts.

Nice To Haves

• Bonus points if you’ve worked with finning machines, welding processes, or PLC controls — but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and fasten machine parts like bearings, gearboxes, drives, and guards.
• Read blueprints and schematics to make sure everything lines up and runs right.
• Hook up hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Check alignment and movement of rotating equipment.
• Test and run the machines to make sure they’re safe and ready to ship.
• Troubleshoot and fix issues when something doesn’t work as expected.
• Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Occasionally help with installs or upgrades at customer sites.
