About The Position

The Finishing/Deburring Team Lead is responsible for leading daily operations of the department; ensuring team members are successful and supporting production flow with high quality parts. This role is hands-on, working with complex parts and process development while leading the team with training, scheduling, and more. Directs a group of employees. Responsible for departmental supervision. Sets up, programs and runs new jobs. Trains others within the group. Responsible for quality, quantity and safety of the group. Liaison between customer/purchasing/engineering and outside groups. Responsible for departmental scheduling. Assist with the development and implementation of quality programs. Responsible for work in process/inventory control. May assist with performance reviews. Keeps accurate records. Ensures work areas are kept clean. Will perform other duties as directed. Relevant AS9100 competencies as defined by QL-7200 Training Matrix.

Requirements

  • Finishing/deburring experience is required, preferably in the aerospace industry, working with metal and tight tolerances
  • Working under a microscope, using hand deburring tools, air tools, abrasives and polishing equipment
  • Strong understanding of prints, GD&T, and quality requirements (AS9100 or ISO experience preferred)
  • Ability to perform visual inspections to identify and resolve flaws, ensuring parts meet customer standards
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to quality
  • Team lead or supervisory experience is required, preferably in a small team environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Embodies leadership attributes including empathy, selflessness, authenticity, decisiveness, and accountability
  • Experience training others in finishing techniques/processes
  • All candidates should be motivated, reliable, accountable and a good team player with a desire to learn
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S., and able to pass pre-employment (drug screen, fit-for-duty exam, background check, reference check and employment verification)
