About The Position

Finishing Set Up Position Overview Responsible for operating and setup of all of equipment in department. Responsible for set up, program changes, and minor equipment maintenance. Incumbents are considered top of their field by being able to successfully troubleshoot all equipment and use their expertise to solve problems and eliminate scrap, rework, and downtime. Should be actively involved in Continuous Improvement Teams within the area to promote safety, quality, throughput, and the addition of any new equipment. Trains all lower-level operators. Considered a leader in the plant. May serve as a resource to Finishing Set Up Essential Functions Accurate and safe machine operation. Operate/set up all machinery in a safe manner. Setup equipment for all product types successfully. Inspects tooling, sets up and makes programming changes as needed. Must be able to repair/maintain all tooling and dies – includes PM program. Should be actively involved in Continuous Improvement within the area to promote safety, quality, throughput, and the addition of any new equipment. Troubleshoot equipment to determine problems that may arise. Trains all lower-level operators. Considered a leader in the plant. Inspect finished parts for gauge thickness, defects, and proper fit up. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Intermediate ability to troubleshoot equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude required.
  • Must be able to handle physical, repetitive work and be able to stand on your feet for 8-12 hours a day.
  • Must be able to read, follow detailed instructions, and understand English.
  • Must be able to distinguish between part numbers and sizes.
  • Must understand and follow the quality policy and procedures – detect defects.
  • Must follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Lead department if group leader is absent.
  • Ability to read and work with blueprints, building and repair tooling and dies.
  • Ability to Train, coordinate, communicate effectively with all departments.
  • Able to troubleshoot and manipulate programs.
