Position Summary: The Finishing Technician is responsible for visually inspecting, deburring, cleaning, tumble, blast, spinning small, machined components, installing Heli-coils, running the bending cell, Polishing cell as well as other various task that fall under the finishing and secondary operations. This effort includes, but is not limited to, the use of various tooling and equipment is required to remove loose or fixed burrs, cleaning of sharp edges, polishing, blending, and installation of screw thread inserts. This individual works with the entire finishing department to ensure products are being made up to company standards.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work under a microscope for an extended period of time
• Ability to read part drawings; above average manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude
• Organized, Team player with the ability to multi-task effectively
• Reliable, self-starting team player with ability to work with little or no supervision

Responsibilities

• Visually inspects machined components using stereo-microscope
• Performs support functions and secondary operations in manufacturing after being safely trained and familiarized with the operation and upkeep of required company equipment
• Operates manual and automated manufacturing equipment per process instructions
• Setups and runs the bending cell and Polishing cell
• Installs screw thread inserts
• Measures and inspects medical device products in accordance with manufacturing specifications
• Cleans, blasts, tumbles, and spins sub-components following established procedures
• Utilizes hand tools including but not limited to deburring knives, files, and pneumatic tools to remove burrs and assemble parts\ Uses automatic machine equipment to bend, polish, tumble, blast, and clean. The ability to hand blast.
• Visually inspects utilizing illumination devices & microscope to view internal areas of components to ensure they are adequately deburred
• Escalates problems/issues to the Finishing manager
• Accurately completes all quality documentation and inspection sheets
• Follows all verbal and/or written instructions such as blueprints, traveler, work instruction, process specifications, sketches, and direction from supervisor in completing a variety of assembly and inspection tasks
• Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies
• Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role
