About The Position

As a Finishing Operator, you may be responsible for functions occurring within the Finishing operations that include packing, core cutting, and material handling, operating a slitter, or floating between any of these listed positions. This role is on 3rd shift, 10pm- 6am, Sunday- Thursday. All interested individuals are encouraged to apply for this position. Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing work experience
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred
• Strong service and quality focus; address issues effectively when problems arise
• Ability to take initiative to understand root causes and communicate/educate team in a timely manner
• Willingness to work overtime, including short-notice requests
• Proficiency with computer applications

Responsibilities

• Inspect general appearance of finished product
• Keep area supplied with necessary packaging materials
• Prepare cores for machine operators
• Perform duties to continuously improve quality and productivity
• Perform 5S duties and audits
• Assist in equipment maintenance activities as directed
• Participate in group problem-solving teams and continuous improvement activities
• Sort, label, and package finished goods for shipment per customer specifications, quality requirements, and standard practices
• Communicate and coordinate necessary information to appropriate shift/department personnel to ensure effective operations
• Track multiple orders being packed at one time
• Maintain a clean, safe work area
• Dump blue bins at the end of the shift and when necessary
• Dump recyclables daily
• Perform Forklift Inspection
• Trim Compactor Controls & Operational Procedures
• Move material to/from raw, WIP, Finishing, Shipping, Receiving and manufacturing areas
• Complete appropriate transactions to document the movement of material within the Inventory Management System
• Support inventory accuracy: Complete warehouse and departmental cycle counts and correct discrepancies
• Help manage winding drum and rack inventories
• Pick up and transfer material racks, pallets and other consumable supplies to/from production areas, as required
• Condense warehouse space and maintain good housekeeping
• Perform all assignments, duties and tasks in a safe manner following standard procedures and practices
• Encourage others to do so
• Correct and/or report all unsafe conditions immediately
