About The Position

Shaw Industries is seeking a Finishing Operator for 2nd shift (Monday–Friday, 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.). This role is responsible for adjusting line speed and temperature while monitoring various stages of the line to ensure efficient operation and high-quality output. Responsibilities

  • At startup:Enable all the drives.
  • Start processes as carpet header runs through machine.
  • Tie carpet to backing to run onto main tenter.
  • Turn on oven burners and steamer.
  • Adjust line speed.
  • Adjust oven temperatures.
  • Monitor tension on pre and main tenters.
  • Monitor carpet and adjust application roller as necessary to apply proper amount of latex.
  • Monitor Press Roller.
  • Monitor J-boxes.
  • Continually monitor main tenter wings and plow adjustment.
  • Monitor carpet for bow and skew problems and make adjustments as needed.
  • Ensure that tenter pin brushes remain clean and properly oiled.
  • Communicate with shearing machine operator when warning light is activated.
  • Prepare for any line problems and act fast in correcting them.
  • Assist in keeping work areas in a clean, orderly manner.
  • Miscellaneous duties as required.
