Haakon Industries, a global leader in custom-designed and manufactured HVAC units, is looking for motivated individuals to join our team as a Finisher in the Finishing Department. This team is responsible for preparing air handling units for shipment to customers, ensuring that all components are installed, tested, and secured for safe transport.

  • This position is classified as safety-sensitive under RCW 49.44.240. Pre-employment and ongoing drug testing, including cannabis screening, may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in demanding physical tasks to support production activities
  • Stand, walk, crawl, lift, and carry heavy items as required to support production
  • Accurately read and interpret blueprints to guide fabrication and assembly processes
  • Use measuring tools to perform mathematical calculations, including converting fractions to decimals, to ensure precision
  • Operate air and electric tools efficiently to complete tasks effectively
  • Work comfortably from heights and ladders to perform necessary duties
  • Perform tasks independently with minimal supervision to meet production goals
  • Work effectively in a team environment with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Use overhead cranes to load units onto trucks and transport materials safely
  • Conduct unit pressure testing, deflection testing, flow testing, and leak and sound tests to ensure quality
  • Install door seals, viewports, handles, and other components to prepare units for shipment
  • Wrap HVAC units in protective plastic to prepare them for shipping
  • Maintain Stock Levels: Ensure production materials are always available
  • Monitor and Address Stock Usage: Handle abnormalities and outages proactively
  • Stage Components: Prepare materials for immediate use to keep production on track
  • Anticipate Needs: Prevent production hold-ups by staying ahead of requirements
  • Read Production Schedules: Interpret and act on schedules to keep things running smoothly
  • Communicate Efficiently: Report missing parts to the purchasing agent
  • Manage Waste: Remove hazardous and non-hazardous waste
  • Lift and Carry Heavy Items: As needed
