S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to coordinate our metal finishing function. As a finisher, you’ll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team. The Finishing System is a process designed to pre-treat metal (i.e., powder coat and liquid paint) to protect it from the environment. You will work in a production environment, engage in continuous productive activity and must meet requirements within predetermined time constraints. Tasks require the use of both hands and arms on a repetitive basis for a full range of motion.

Requirements

A working knowledge of shop math.
Ability to follow specific instructions and procedures.
Standing: All tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.
Lifting: Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 50 lbs.
Walking: Occasional walking moderate distances (less than 1/8 mile).
Carrying: Frequent carrying of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 25 lbs.
Pushing: Occasional pushing of motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000 lbs.
Pulling: Occasional pulling of motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000 lbs.
Bending: Frequent bending and crouching to safely lift parts of various sizes and shapes.
Reaching: Continuous full range of motion from above the shoulders to below the knees.
Handling: Continuous handling of parts ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 50 lbs.
Other: Respirator certification required.
The work in this area is physically demanding and requires the ability to sustain a continuous work pace for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Identify parts from blueprints to verify that they are properly tagged.
Have the ability to use simple material handling equipment such as powered walking stackers, storage trucks and pallet trucks.
Use simple measuring equipment such as tape measures.
Have the ability to learn proper grinding procedures to smooth welds and remove scratches from steel parts and enclosures.
Hanging of parts weighing up to 200 lbs. on an overhead conveyor using material handling equipment.
Reacting to system alarms and basic sanding procedures.
