A Fiberglass Finisher is a key player in troubleshooting any flaws that may happen during the creation of hulls. They will deliver a flawless finished product. The Fiberglass Finisher will be responsible for repairs of fiberglass boat hulls, decks and small parts. They are key drivers of delivering a flawless product by using a variety of skills. They will be responsible for inspection and have an understanding of fiberglass finishing. They will need to use a variety of tools which include but not limited to: spray guns, buffers, grinders, drills and/or other specialty tools and fixtures.

Requirements

  • Must follow all safety and quality standards at all times, including chemical handling standards and PPE (personal protective equipment).
  • Must understand the handling and application of solvents, paints, pastes, putty, and wax along with proper disposal.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Ability to use hand, and pneumatic tools, buffer and abrasive sanding.
  • Ability to work with fellow coworkers in close proximity and in a team environment displaying mutual respect.
  • Ability to fluently speak, read, understand, and write English.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

  • Two plus years of finishing in the marine industry preferred.
  • Fiberglass repair and finishing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs fiberglass boat hulls, decks, and small parts using spray gun with paint, buffer with wax, polish, compound, fillers, putty, and/or paste.
  • Understand and follow verbal and written directions.
  • Responsible for parts inspection and have an understanding of fiberglass finish or basic use of abrasives.
  • Works following specific job instructions, frequently reading and providing verbal and/or written status of part completion.
