About The Position

The position involves performing safety checks at the start of each shift, including checks on cranes and tools, and completing necessary documentation. Associates will engage in hand finishing and deburring a variety of parts for tank assembly, utilizing measuring tools and various hand finishing tools. Responsibilities include grinding, filing, or sanding metal surfaces, applying coatings, assembling components, and conducting visual inspections for defects. The role also requires operating cranes, hoists, and forklifts, ensuring proper documentation, and adhering to ITAR standards.

Requirements

  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding and support of company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to understand and abide by all safety rules and regulations.
  • Basic understanding of computers.
  • Reading, writing, and simple math skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • High School diploma, GED, or at least 1 year of working experience in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all safety checks at the start of the shift, including cranes and tools.
  • Continue to perform safety checks throughout the shift.
  • Hand finish and deburr a wide variety of parts for tank assembly.
  • Utilize measuring tools and have experience in finishing and deburring.
  • Grind, file, or sand surfaces of metal items using hand tools and power tools.
  • Apply oil fog, grease, and other coatings to manufactured products.
  • Assemble covers, bolts, washers, nuts, plugs, etc., as required.
  • Select files or abrasives according to materials and finishing processes.
  • Conduct visual inspections of manufactured products for defects.
  • Operate cranes, hoists, and forklifts as needed.
  • Complete all parts paperwork and documentation properly.
  • Read blueprints and have a mechanical background.
  • Conduct dye penetrant testing and assist with the hydro area.
  • Assist finisher II with packaging.
  • Handle moving of hazardous waste as required.
  • Adhere to ITAR-specific job standards and training.
