About The Position

A day in the life You arrive before the 2nd shift begins, walk the floor, and kick off a brief safety huddle. With the day’s orders in hand, you align lift truck drivers to docks, stage loads, and confirm trailers for inbound receipts. You balance labor to meet shipping deadlines, keep finished goods organized across buildings, and step in to troubleshoot—whether that’s a hot order, a space constraint, or a clamp truck that needs attention. Throughout the shift, you coach the team, verify inventory accuracy, maintain spotless shipping and warehouse areas, and capture every transaction in the system. Before close, you finalize paperwork, update KPIs, and prep the next team for success. Schedule 2nd shift — 2:45 PM to 11:15 PM. What you’ll own Lead and promote a strong safety culture within the warehouse department. Direct and coach lift truck drivers, tracking both safety and productivity. Build efficient labor schedules to reduce cost and maximize throughput. Assign dock positions for incoming trailers and manage trailer placement. Oversee outbound shipments to customers and sister plants to ensure on-time dispatch. Plan and assign loads for shipping teams. Control finished goods inventory across multiple buildings and storage locations. Maintain an organized, compliant warehouse for finished goods and shipping. Keep shipping and warehouse areas clean, orderly, and audit-ready. Record all inbound receipts and transfers to other sites. Maintain complete and accurate shipping/warehouse records in the computer system. Coordinate repairs and follow up on maintenance for forklifts and clamps. Motivate, counsel, innovate, and provide clear direction to team members. Hold regular department meetings to share updates, changes, and safety topics, and to align on continuous improvement. Train, onboard, and evaluate new team members joining the department. Cover split shifts when the other Warehouse Supervisor is on vacation or out. What you bring High school diploma; some college or 5 years’ equivalent experience. Clear verbal communication and strong follow-up habits. Sound judgment and the ability to make timely decisions. The posted range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for this job across all U.S. locations. Within the range, actual pay is based on job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. At Novolex, it is uncommon for an individual to start at the top of the range; compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case.
