About The Position

To perform a variety of finish painting applications and painting related activities requiring a high level of knowledge related to techniques, tools, equipment and safety precautions. To adhere to the general safety plan. May be required to do other duties, including blasting and undercoating, as requested by supervisor. Primary job functions typically require exercising a high level of independent judgement. Performs work at a high-quality level consistent with Wabash National/Transcraft standard practice. Supervised by supervisor, general foreman, manager or department head.

Requirements

• Must have both written and verbal communication skills
• High School degree or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred for this position
• Must pass an initial and an annual pulmonary exam
• Must complete respiratory fit testing as needed and adhere to guidelines
• Must complete painters' safety training
• Must meet the above qualifications before assuming undercoating or painting duties
• May be required to successfully complete other special training for specific assignments
• Requires minimum of eight hours of standing, bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling, with a full range of body mechanics
• Regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds. Frequently required to lift up to 75 pounds. Occasionally required to lift greater than 75 pounds
• Must be able to work in an environment requiring use of ladder or stairs, climbing in trailers, and working on platforms
• Must have ability to operate a variety of power tools, hand tools, and manufacturing equipment, and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
