The Berkeley City Club is a historic hotel, event space, restaurant and bar, and social club. Originally opened in 1930 as the Berkeley Women’s City Club, our architect Julia Morgan’s unique Moorish-gothic vision comes to life through soaring arches, ornamental architecture, inviting courtyards, and a breathtaking indoor pool. We are looking for a welcoming and professional "people person" to provide an exceptional first impression and ongoing experience for our restaurant patrons. In this role, you will greet guests and members as they enter the restaurant as well as respond to phone calls and emails, and assist them with making future dining reservations.
Requirements
- Friendly and welcoming personality
- Open and willing to work in a multicultural environment
- Organized with the ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with gpatrons and team members
- High attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new tasks
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Word
- Proficient in Point of Sale (POS) software including Clubessential
- Proficient in Reservation software including OpenTable
- 2+ years of Fine Dining hosting experience
- High school diploma
