Fine Dining Apprentice Bartender - MGM Springfield
About The Position
As the Fine Dining Apprentice Bartender, you will support daily bar operations at the Chandler Steakhouse and Costa restaurants at MGM Springfield. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, stocking supplies, assisting the bartenders with drink preparation, and supporting opening and closing procedures. This position requires at least 1+ years of prior bar or beverage experience in a fast‑paced, guest‑focused environment, with a strong understanding of service standards, sanitation practices, and teamwork to deliver a seamless guest experience.
Requirements
- 1+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience as an Apprentice Bartender working in a similar resort setting is preferred
- Able and willing to work a Full-time schedule (5 days per week, Swing shift; 12-2pm start to 8-10pm end time). Variable days to include include weekends and holidays
- Knowledgeable of menu items, including mixing and serving beverages, standard beverage recipes, preparation methods, glassware, garnishes, products, menu items, supplies and equipment
- Ability to multi‐task and work well in a fast paced, team‐oriented environment
- Must be at least 21 years of age
Responsibilities
- Assist the bartender with preparation of drinks, mixes and garnishes
- Maintain the cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance of the bar area
- Maintain sufficient stock of all items and products in designated work areas
- Ensure proper set up, labeling, stocking and delivery of alcohol, non‐alcoholic beverages, supplies, glasses, paper products, garnishes, and ice
- Clean equipment, tools, supplies, polish glassware and ensure equipment is in working order
- Perform opening and closing duties based upon shift assignment
- Promote and maintain the highest level of service to all guests while staying alert to their needs, and respond effectively to guest inquiries
- Resolve guest complaints within scope of authority; otherwise, refer the matter to management, notify supervisor and/or Security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged theft
