About The Position

Massachusetts College of Art and Design is seeking candidates for a Visiting Artist faculty position in the FA2D Painting Department beginning Fall 2025. This position is a full time two-year appointment with the possibility of a third-year renewal. The role involves teaching an undergraduate painting Major Studio and an elective within the FA2D Department over a three consecutive day schedule. A graduate course may be assigned in lieu of an elective. Additional required responsibilities include advising, student recruitment, attending departmental meetings, and committee assignments. The ideal candidate will be capable of teaching both innovative and traditional approaches to painting, and engaging a diverse student body. The successful applicant will also be committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success.

Requirements

• Candidates are expected to hold an MFA or Terminal Degree in a related field
• 1-3 years of college-level teaching beyond teaching assistantships or equivalent
• An active Exhibition Record
