Financial Systems Analyst-Finance Operations
About The Position
Serves as a Finance subject matter expert for the claims, billing and payment systems used by the company. Responsible for understanding, collaborating and supporting evolving business strategies impacting the Finance department, and more specifically finance’s role supporting brokers, groups and internal departments as we identify and implement solutions to contribute to the success of these strategies. Supports the build-out and maintenance of GL integrations to automate and advance operational financial activity within the GL and other systems that maintain these critical functions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
- 2 years of experience in Accounting or Finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Basic understanding of financial and accounting concepts
- Must have strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft® applications including Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint.
- Relevant experience with data query software or tools that allow systems to interact, resulting in more efficient data collection and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Understands the Company’s specific products, plans, programs, and payment models and their related accounting treatments and impact on results.
- Serves as a Finance business partner to Sales, Product Development, Provider Relations, Membership, Actuarial Services, Operations and IT to facilitate and track new or changing products, plans, payment models and other financial arrangements
- Develops understanding of company’s core operating systems used to process claims, capitation, premiums and other billing arrangements along with the supporting Finance processes relating to payments and receipts
- Assist with the testing and maintenance of new GL integrations, and modifications to existing GL integrations, based on evolving business needs
- Queries financial and other data from Enterprise Data Warehouse to support internal and external audit and other requests
- Troubleshoots problems, resolves integration and other system issues, and improves overall data quality.
- Performs balance sheet reconciliations for critical accounts that consist of material amounts received and paid to customers with a high level of sensitivity to accuracy.
- Maintains productive relationships during regular interactions with internal and external customers that positively build on finance’s brand as a trusted partner.
- Support and contribute to sustainable solutions that enable the Company to invoice/recover eligible program costs that many times have varying components.
- Completes special projects and assignments.
