About The Position

Our Deloitte Finance Transformation team practices to help chief financial officers, controllers, and finance teams define and execute their finance and global business services agendas and strategies. You will work with leading-class teams and solutions, helping clients navigate challenging environments, market uncertainty, technology development, and regulatory considerations to unlock value. Your work may span strategy, operations, process design, and technology as we partner with clients to transform finance. Our Controllership and Treasury Transformation offering modernizes the finance function to support the evolving business objectives of the organization. We work with the CFO, CAO, controller, and treasurer to develop an efficient, high quality, data-driven, tech-enabled controllership and treasury function that empowers our clients to drive more value to their business partners and to their investors. The Project Delivery Talent Model is designed for professionals with specialized skills that align to a current client need. Team members focus on delivering services to clients, without additional expectations related to business development or promotion. Their employment is tied to their role on a project, and they are eligible for a benefits package that is competitive for project delivery-focused professionals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 10+ years of Federal government accounting and auditing experience
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Secret level clearance for this role
  • Ability to travel 0-25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

Responsibilities

  • Support key initiatives within the Department of Defense (DoD) related to the Standard Financial Information Structure (SFIS) and the Statement Line of Accounting (SLOA).
  • Impact the financial management and compliance posture with the client by shaping guidance, policies, and inter-agency coordination.
  • Develop quarterly updates to SFIS guidance in alignment with evolving federal requirements.
  • Coordinate with DoD Components to address questions, clarify guidance, and incorporate feedback into official SFIS/SLOA documentation.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on SFIS/SLOA, serving as a central resource for best practices and technical advice across the DoD financial management landscape.
  • Continuously contribute to the enhancement and accuracy of SFIS/SLOA guidance to ensure compliance and operational effectiveness.
  • Engage in policy analysis and documentation, ensuring updates meet regulatory standards and reflect stakeholder needs.
