Piper Sandler is seeking a Financial Systems Accountant in our Minneapolis, MN office. This position will work in the Financial Reporting team and share responsibility for financial systems through systems administration, data integrity, data management, daily accounting functions and month-end close, financial reporting and assist in identifying and implementing process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, information systems or computer science
• 2-5 years of relevant business experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot tables) and Microsoft Access is required
• Ability to use Generative AI for content creation, data analysis and workflow automation
• Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Strong planning and organization skills, including effective time management
• Keen attention to detail

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Oracle Essbase, Infor Lawson and Microsoft Power Platform (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Systems Administration: Serve as the first line of support for Infor Lawson financial modules and Oracle Essbase, troubleshooting user issues and ensuring system stability.
• Data Integrity: Manage daily data processing jobs and validate the accuracy of system interfaces including journal entries, project codes, and statistical data.
• Data Management: Collaborate with Financial Planning & Analysis and Firm Accounting to maintain organization data including the creation and modification of cost centers and accounts.
• Month-End Close and Financial Reporting: Perform monthly close and consolidation duties including preparing journal entries in the general ledger system and completing balance sheet reconciliations. Support financial reporting process (Form 10-K/10-Q and other filings) through preparing financial statements and supporting notes.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities and drive change in support of continuous improvement and to increase efficiency across the CFO Group.
• Project Implementation: Assist with key financial systems and accounting projects, such as new financial systems implementations, software upgrades and data integration for new company acquisitions.
