About The Position

Delivers an exceptional Member experience throughout our communities. Provides detailed information and promotes credit union products and services to build strong relationships with our Members. The ideal candidate will proactively engage with Members taking a consultative approach to understanding their financial needs and goals, recommending solutions to help them achieve both. Creates an environment of trust by “doing what’s right.”

Requirements

  • High School or GED Or 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to Members and other Team Members at the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute dividends and interest.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form.
  • The Team Member occasionally must lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Must be able to process transactions in an efficient manner. Must be able to communicate policies and procedures to Members in an easily understood and professional manner.
  • Must comply with all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and other Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws and regulations, as they pertain to federal guidelines and internal policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Builds, develops, and expands Member relationships through needs-based assessments to identify and recommend deposit, credit, and investment solutions to help Members achieve their financial goals.
  • Takes a consultative approach with Members regarding credit union products and services by assessing the Members’ needs, addressing their concerns, and gaining agreement.
  • Processes new memberships, additional share accounts, savings services, loan requests, and loan fundings as requested by the Member.
  • May process financial transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, payments, and general ledger entries while maintaining a cash drawer.
  • Understands the role in sales growth and meets branch-assigned and individual goals.
  • Delivers a personalized Member experience by answering Member questions with a “can-do” attitude, understanding Member needs, and exceeding their expectations.
  • Demonstrates Member service skills and the ability to solve problems independently, utilizing critical thinking and problem-solving skills and empowerment.
  • Educates Members on alternative channels that provide value and refer to appropriate business partners.
  • Recommends alternative channels such as online, mobile, and digital solutions.
  • Develops strong partnerships with Financial Advisors, Home Loan Officers, and Business Bankers.
  • Identifies and reports fraudulent activity to prevent potential loss to the credit union.
  • Identifies, investigates, and resolves basic and complex Member concerns, as well as processes and completes Member transactions in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Updates Member and credit union account information efficiently and accurately.
  • Ability to de-escalate situations, looking from several points of view and applying good judgment and critical thinking to resolve the situation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
