About The Position

The Financial Solutions Advisor Stage I (FSA I) position at Bank of America is an entry-level role focused on developing financial advisory skills. The journey begins with obtaining Securities Industry licenses, specifically the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, and Series 66 Exams, through dedicated and personalized classes. Once licensed, the individual will be trained in foundational advisor skills, including acquiring, building, and managing client relationships, understanding complex financial situations, and providing advice and solutions to help clients achieve their financial goals. After reaching key milestones, the FSA I will work in a financial center, delivering Bank of America’s core banking and investment solutions. Successful FSA I's are expected to progress to Financial Solutions Advisor Stage II, where they will continue to grow and deepen client relationships within a client portfolio. The Academy provides ongoing support, tools, and resources throughout the career journey. This position is subject to SAFE Act registration requirements, which include a federal registry system registration and a background check; failure to maintain registration may result in termination. Bank of America maintains an in-office culture with specific attendance requirements, while also offering appropriate flexibility based on role-specific considerations.

Requirements

  • Aptitude in obtaining required industry licenses (SIE within 30 days of being hired & Series 7 & 66 within 120 Days)
  • Must be self-disciplined in managing time and capacity
  • Experience in cultivating client relationships, accessing needs and recommending solutions
  • Success creating strong peer relationships through effective communication and collaboration
  • Demonstrates a results-driven mindset while prioritizing client’s interest in a complex, fast-paced environment
  • Executes multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Learns and adapts to new technology or applications
  • High School Diploma / GED / Secondary School or equivalent
  • Open availability required + some Saturdays

Nice To Haves

  • Currently holds FINRA Securities Industry Essentials (SIE)
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or a minimum of one year of financial services industry or sales experience
  • Holds Series 63 & 65 licenses (in lieu of 66)

  • Consider a client’s complex financial picture and guide them with advice and solutions
  • Humanize financial interactions
  • Deliver Bank of America’s core banking, investment solutions and approach to client care
  • Use a defined consultative approach with clients to systematically identify client needs and appropriate solutions
  • Provide end-to-end comprehensive advice
  • Deliver client reviews/presentations with confidence
  • Recommend strategies to help clients achieve their financial goals and life priorities
  • Collaborate with core banking and investment partners
  • Connect clients to the solutions provided through Bank of America and Merrill to meet virtually all their financial needs
  • Register with the federal registry system and remain in good standing pursuant to SAFE Act requirements
