About The Position

The Financial Services Representative, Strategic Accounts, is dedicated to delivering exceptional, customer-centric service for patients managing their billing and account inquiries across various hospitals, ambulatory, and ancillary sites using multiple systems. This role involves providing follow up on a broad population of patient accounts to resolve issues and fulfill requests via inbound and outbound phone correspondence. Advises and counsels admitted patients of financial responsibility and self-payments. Processes payments, issues patient receipts, and maintains collection log.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
1-3 years of relevant experience, required.

Nice To Haves

Prior knowledge of systems used preferred.

Responsibilities

Interviews patients to obtain necessary financial and insurance information.
Verifies patients insurance and collects additional insurance such as No Fault and Workers Compensation.
Performs financial assessment of patients; refers potential Medicaid cases to Medicaid Investigator.
Gathers documentation and assists in the completion of the Financial Assistance Program (FAU) application process.
Assists patients and/or families in resolving hospital bills; advises and counsels patients of their payment responsibility due to the hospital.
Establishes patients’ pro-rated financial obligations and sets-up payment arrangements/contracts.
Follows up on scheduled payments via mail and telephone.
Processes applications for Section 1011, where applicable.
Maintains daily work log of payments collected.
