About The Position
The Financial Services Representative I position at Meriwest Credit Union is designed to assist customers with a wide variety of financial services while providing the highest quality customer service. This role involves advising customers on how to best utilize the company's products and services to meet their personal financial goals. The representative will be responsible for opening various new accounts, processing necessary information, and educating members about the services and products available to them. This includes assisting members with opening Certificates of Deposit (CDs), explaining penalties and earnings, and facilitating the opening, closing, transfer, and rollover of Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs). In addition to account management, the representative will handle a wide range of member services, including managing Shared Certificates, maintaining Safe Deposit Boxes, assisting with checkbooks, processing credit card and loan applications, managing outgoing wires, resolving fraud issues, and providing notary services. The role also requires setting up auto transfers and signing up members for Automated Clearing House (ACH) transfers and wires. The representative will provide backup support to Member Services Representatives as needed and must comply with all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act and the Patriot Act. This position is not only about performing tasks but also about building relationships with members and promoting the credit union's products and services effectively. The representative must possess excellent communication skills to make professional presentations and overcome objections from members. The role requires a strong customer service focus, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to maintaining a high level of professional conduct. The representative must also be willing to work Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
