About The Position
The Financial Services Representative 2 position at Rush University Medical Center is a full-time role within the Dermatology department, primarily focused on managing open receivables and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements. The representative will be responsible for securing reimbursements, safeguarding the Medical Center's assets, and minimizing financial risks while working on behalf of patients' financial liabilities. This role is crucial in decreasing receivables and enhancing quality and productivity within the department. The representative will perform various tasks including re-bills, adjustments, refunds, and claim corrections that arise from numerous claims and payer edits. They will also be responsible for notifying denial management of audits and responding to internal audits as necessary. The position requires a strong understanding of billing and collection processes, as well as eligibility requirements for both private and governmental payers. The representative will exemplify Rush's mission, vision, and values while adhering to the organization's policies and procedures. In addition to managing account balances, the representative will follow up on claims with appropriate payers, collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate charge credits and debits, and develop and maintain electronic documents for project management. They will also monitor updates from the Illinois Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) to ensure compliance and work within their team to ensure all job workflows and processes are followed effectively.
