The Insurance Actuarial Advisory Service (IAAS), Property & Casualty (PC) practice within FSO is seeking an individual that is highly motivated with experienced pricing abilities, robust knowledge of data analytics and the associated tools and programming languages, excellent operational management capabilities and communication skills. This position will report directly to the Leader of the IAAS, Property & Casualty Actuarial Advisory practice. Put simply, our actuarial advisers deliver creative and innovative thinking to high-profile property and casualty insurance companies worldwide, supporting them in making confident financial judgments in support of their business goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, and/or other related majors
  • Approximately 6+ years of experience in an actuarial-oriented position
  • A minimum of 2 years of project or people management responsibility
  • Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society required, Fellowship preferred
  • At least 3 years of experience with Excel, SAS, VBA and/or C++
  • Strong writing, presentation, conceptual, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to understand and persuade on complex subjects both in writing and verbally
  • Experience working in a team environment on project-based work

Nice To Haves

  • Previous consulting experience or experience implementing new processes/procedures in a corporate environment
  • Experience with loss reserving software
  • Experience with rating engines and platforms
  • 2 years working with advanced analytics including knowledge of R, SQL, Python or similar data and analytics programming languages

Responsibilities

  • Deliver EY’s actuarial transformation and premium acceleration service offerings
  • Develop efficiencies throughout the practice
  • Streamline the operational aspects of the group
  • Participate on engagement teams focused on reserving, actuarial opinion and regulatory services
  • Engage in predictive modeling and customer analytics
  • Contribute to actuarial transformation and modeling
  • Set rates for all lines of business
  • Conduct financial forecasting and valuation
  • Assist in product development
  • Mentor and develop junior team members
