About The Position

Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, a national law firm with offices in all 50 states, has excellent opportunities in its Chicago office for attorneys with 3–5 years of experience in Financial Services Litigation and/or Real Estate Litigation, with a strong focus on representing lenders and handling enforcement actions in both state and federal courts. Experience with commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) is preferred but not required. Ideal candidates will have a strong academic background, and proven research skills. They should be driven team players with exceptional litigation, writing, and persuasive speaking abilities, and demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Candidates will work alongside a nationally recognized legal authority in the CMBS industry who has handled numerous litigation matters throughout the Midwest. His broad background includes assisting financial institutions and real estate related entities in complicated foreclosure matters and lien priority disputes, defending financial institutions in TILA, RESPA, and FDCPA claims, and considerable experience defending mortgage servicers and corporations in class actions under the TCPA. Candidates must be licensed and admitted to practice in Illinois. GRSM offers competitive compensation and a full benefits package, including eligibility for subjective and objective bonuses and student debt repayment assistance. The yearly salary range is between $100,000-$275,000. This position is open to all experience levels. The actual salary offered may be above or below the identified range and will be based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, including the location where the position is filled. Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Drafting correspondence, pleadings, opinion letters and other documents
  • Reviewing and analyzing documents for relevance and privilege
  • Preparing for, attending and summarizing depositions
  • Coordinating with witnesses
  • Communicating with clients, courts and other counsel
  • Drafting and arguing motions
  • Maintain current knowledge of Local Rules, Rules of Civil Procedure, FRCP and other applicable codes and regulations
  • Coordinate and communicate with parties outside the Firm including clients, courts, opposing and co-counsel, vendors, attorneys, secretaries, paralegals, case assistants, managers and other staff
