In this role, you’ll work directly with financial professionals and policyholders to walk them through how different actions — such as taking withdrawals, stopping premium payments, or making other policy changes — impact their benefits and long‑term policy performance. As a Financial Services Specialist, you'll provide prompt, efficient service for assigned product and/or service center internal and external customers. You will take a lead role in the overall administration for financial products according to the terms of the plan, contract and administrative services agreement. You'll perform specialized analytical processing for policies/contracts.

  • Knowledge of information systems and insurance/financial services industry practices preferred.
  • Basic mathematics, familiarity with office filing systems and record keeping procedures and problem-solving techniques.
  • Basic knowledge of contract law and tax ramifications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to analyze workflows, procedures, ledger accounts, administrative needs such as systems and physical resources to set work priorities that conform with established standards.
  • Analytical skill necessary to evaluate and recommend solutions to procedural work situations.
  • Act as subject matter authority to other employees in all aspects of policy/account contracts.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Life Illustrator or Calc Focus for life insurance modeling.
  • Familiarity with Power BI apps to implement automation where possible.
  • Experience working within OIPA, ALS, or Provident administration systems.
  • Participation in technical coursework such as LOMA, CLU, ChFC desirable.
  • FINRA series 6 and/or 26 license(s) preferred and may be required based on assigned product/line-of-business or distribution system.
  • Four to six years of experience in such areas as insurance, investments or financial services.
  • Work experience with undergraduate studies preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze life insurance policies and model various scenarios for members, helping them understand how changes affect policy values, premiums, and long‑term outcomes.
  • Use life insurance illustration tools to produce accurate, easy‑to-explain projections.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure members receive timely, accurate, and personalized support.
  • Assists in analyzing and resolving difficult problems, detailed cases and customer service requests.
  • Reviews documentation, analyzes and interprets processing errors and net financial effect to the company, formulates resolution for handling processing errors and implements necessary changes.
  • Oversees the handling of unusual cases requiring knowledge of specialized, complex subject matters to company policy, practices and procedures to the appropriate section managers.
  • Monitors the team's incoming work activity via daily tracking, researching all accounts exceeding contract requirements and reports the status of those cases according to established escalation procedures.
  • Assists in developing guidelines and controls for all procedural changes, products and service charges and various system modifications for policy/account contracts.
  • Monitors the monthly team statistics regarding processing and production.
  • Recommends procedural changes to management.
